LESSB Officers

John Robison (President) is Chief Meterologist for KCBD/Fox 34 Media. Besides LESSB, he has been involved with Meals on Wheels, Lubbock Kiwanis, UMC Care Center, and Boy Scouts. He enjoys fishing, camping, and classic cars.

Wendi Edwards (Historian) was with APS for 26 years as investigator and then Community Engagement Specialist. She currently works for Agency 4 RED and enjoys her grandchildren, reading, and traveling.

Pat Francis-Johnson (Special Events Chair) is Assistant Dean of Culture and Climate and Assistant Professor at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. She has served in leadership roles on variouis boards and committees.

Ginny Simpson is the Chief of the Juvenile Division at the Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney's Office. She is active in the Junior League of Lubbock and Lubbock Area Bar Association. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and four legged boys, Jack and Benny. 

Patricia Ramsey retired from a 22-year career with Lubbock Police Dispatch and now works from home as a transcriptionist. She also volunteers with Friends of the Library.

Amy Blackard (APS Supervisor) supervises Unit 30 out of the Lubbock office and has been withthe state for 11 years. Amy enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid reader.

Ernie Morin (APS Supervisor) has been with DFPS for 15 years, first with CPS and the last 10 years with APS. Prior to that, he served in law enforcement (16 years) and Security Forces in the air force (5 years).

Adult Protective Services Partners (Texas Department of Family and Protective Services)

Nicky Ramon-Morin (Program Administrator) has been with DFPS (both CPS & APS) for 22 years. She is a U.S. Army Veteran and enjoys walking and spending time with family.

Kathleen Mawe (Vice-President) spent 32 years working in the medical field, both in direct patient care and administration. Volunteering with various organizations, traveling, and staying fit now fill Kathleen’s days.

Dan Kuss is retired from the Texas Department of Human Services. He is currently a Mediator for the Office of Dispute Resolution in Lubbock and serves on the State Board for APS.

Bob Tate (Treasurer) spent 50 years in banking in Lubbock before retiring in 2017. He has been on the Silver Star Board since 2013 and has volunteered at Meals on Wheels since 2000.

Judy Mayfield (Secretary) is a retired Texas CPS administrator. She now works part-time as a consultant for New Mexico CPS and for the federal Children’s Bureau.

Nettie Edwards (Recruiting Chair) is a retired school principal and adjunct professor. She is a church trustee, musician, and food ministry volunteer, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

Jess Peterson (Grant Coordinator) is a former executive director of assisted and retirement living. He spends his retirement years as an entertainer for senior communities.

Marci Leffler (Faith-Based Community Engagement Specialist) works in 101 counties in Texas, including the South Plains Area.  She has been with the Department of Family and Protective Services for 11 years and serves as the liaison between the Board and APS staff.

Stephanie Bolton (APS Supervisor) supervises Unit 26 out of the Lubbock office. She has been with the state for 13 years in both Lubbock and rural counties. Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family and her very senior dog, June.
